"Not an Illusion" is a social series tackles the issue of man having a modern thinking while surrounded by traditional conservative views. Man's dilemma is trying to manage the conflict between his own "isle" and the bigger world outside. From this perspective the events highlight the relationship between the various components of the society which make its beauty and richness if they are approached with true and honest openness. Nevertheless, approaches of falseness and denial of the existence of the other are always found in all societies.
These issues concern the society with all its sectors and classes in general, and the inner self in particular. Educated and effective man is concerned either to respond as in the case of many characters in the story like: Jalal, Michael, Ilham, Waddah, Lena; or to stay neutral to characters like: Adel, Ziad, Khalil till the last episodes leaving the mind to choose and judge according to what happens especially in the final events.
The drama shows different types of educated people to distinguish between them like the effective educated person who is at peace with himself and his announcements, and the negative educated person who is lost in his own desert of wrong beliefs. An also educated person who can be an opportunist, or who depends on the public culture produced and nurtured by the general public reality and doesn't try to refuse or even accept it….
