This series presents one of the most famous historical and humane personalities in the Arab and Islamic History—Abdurrahman Addakhel who was given the title “Saqre Quraish” by his bitter enemy the Abbasid Caliph, Abu Ja’far Almansoor. This he did as an acknowledgement to his high strength and talent in the art of ruling and politics and prevailing over the weak and the great sects depending on his own intelligence.
Addakhel was the grandson of Hisham, the son of Abdulmalik, the last of the great Umayyad Caliphs. His grandfather Hisham had adopted him after the death of his father Mu’awiah son of Hisham. His life story becomes alike with the complicated historical circumstances in a dangerous stage of the Arabic Islamic History which is the era of the fall of the Umayyad Caliphate and the rise of the Abbasid Caliphate after a large secret call lasted for long decades. And a big bloody conflict ended in the termination of the Umayyads and chasing them everywhere. Abdurrahman was among the few who could escape from the killing and chasing.
In his journy from Ashaam to Egypt, Near Morocco, and Middle Morocco (Algeria), Far Morocco and Andalusia, Abdurrahman was one of the rare persons who were able to escape. Through this escape we have a rich story full of humane, impressive and dramatic events. In this journey he was accompanied by his servant (Badre) who shared him the governing, strife and assiduous work for the great aim which is the conquest of Andalusia and capturing it, because Andalusia was considered an Umayyad state in the far west. It, however, was independent with its affairs because of its being far from the centre of the Caliphate. And in spite of the fact that its conquest took place 40 years before the arrival of Addakhel, it was, all those years, a theatre of bloody destructive tribal fights among its own tribes, namely the Yamaies and the Qaisies. This threatened its survival in the possession of Arabs and the Muslim since earlier stage.
Abdurrahman Addakhel was able to manipulate the internal conflicts among the tribes for reaching the power of ruling over them and to terminate the devastating  tribal fanaticism, and to build a great state which can compete the Abbasid State in the east. It was the State which, afterwards, became the lighthouse of civilization, art and science, thanks to the foundations made by Abdurrahman Addakhel.  After the tragic journey for escape, Addakhel strife for capturing Andalusia represents another dramatic events, rich great and impressive. Then comes the stage of strengthening  the state against what is left of the tribal fanaticism on one hand, and the rising kingdom of the North Qistala on the other hand. Qistala shouldered the mission of forming the State for the Arab and Muslims in Andalusia. It benefited from the circumstances of internal Arab conflicts to strengthen its existence in the far north of the Iberian Island (Spain).  Addakhel spends his long ruling years from 136 – 172 a. h. in a continuous fight with the dissidents and insurgents, until he was able to strengthen his ruling and establish the prestige of the state.
This also establishes  the third dramatic unit, with great significance regarding its impressive dramatic events in the frame of these historicity forms the humane and dramatic story of Addakhel which is pivoted on the unique human resolve for achieving a far dream in spite of all the barriers and overcoming challenges.
In the process of the dramatic dealing, this work casts a number of humane historical and important questions. These questions are related to the compound historical formation of the Arab Muslim State in those stages such as the disharmonised relation between the State and the tribal fanaticism, and also like the problematic contradiction between the motives of faith and those of gains in the motion of the Arab-Islamic expansion, and the problem regarding the complex relationship between the necessity of strengthening the State and the humane and moral values in the dealing between the State and the social forces, and between the ruler and the ruled.
In addition to the question regarding the destiny, and the role of the individual in the face of the surrounding general circumstances, we see Addakhel in the process of  strengthening the state and its authority and terminating the fighting tribes, he finds himself leaving much of his moral resources, in order not to hesitate in destroying all the rebels against him and turn into a bloody ruler so harsh against his enemies, thus he gains Andalusia; and Andalusia gains him, but in the process of his battle for this great aim, he loses his soul, and becomes alienated from people, and abandons his friends, feeling a hard blow and painful loneliness.
The man who had Andalusia and frustrated all the conspiracies made against him, feels strange and longs to live in ‘Al-Sham’, where he was born.
Thus the story of Abdurrahman is a humane dramatic epic rare among the stories of the historical Arab and Islamic personalities all along the history.
