A law, but!![]() This work speaks about the Administrative and moral corruption. Nazem, the general manager of a Construction Establishment is a man of lymphatic mood. He is discreet and coward. From outside he is honest and moral, but from inside he is full of matter and pus. His son in law, Waleed forces him and blackmails him to allow illegal bargains. And because of his cowardness and fear of law, his wife tries even the impossible with the help of her son in law to make him (Nazm) used to steeling and embezzling and passing illegal acts.
For this aim, they put money in his pocket secretly in order to make him used to spending it; then they stop doing this abruptly to make him feel the difference. All their efforts go waste. But after a number of tries he gets used to finding money in his pocket whenever he needs. He, however knows that his wife and son in law have been putting money in his pocket, then becomes addict to this money to the extent that he begins to wait for them to put the money in his pocket impatiently, in spite of his hate to it. Munzer, his deputy starts to do all the illegal bargains. When Nazem knows about it he demands his share from all these bargains. The administration of monitoring and inspection knows about the illegal bargains and causes fear to Nazem who declines and makes the necessary amendments in the papers. The administration, then, finds no fault in them. But when Nazem, knows of the coming of a secret committee he register all his possessions in the name of a person he trusts; but he finds out that that person was one of the secret committee. This leads to the confiscation of all his possessions. He falls hemiplegic and Munzer, his deputy, takes his position as a general manager.
